Baptiste Marquant is an engineer with an agronomical background specializing in the management of ecosystems and tropical forests. Since the beginning of his career in 2010, he has acquired diversified expertise, although always focused on sustainable forest management, working alongside private operators (producers and consultancy firms), forest administrations, research centres and international institutions.
Over the course of the positions he has held (CIRAD, AFD, FRM consultancy firm), Baptiste Marquant has gradually built up his experience in forest management (production of management documents) and forest governance (technical support and training for administrations or the private sector for the implementation of the FLEGT action plan), project management (at all stages, from appraisal to final evaluation) and more recently biodiversity (revival of activities in a Central African national park) or the fight against climate change (via the REDD+ and PES mechanisms).
Baptiste Marquant starts his consultancy activities in 2019 and puts his technical and project management skills at the service of decision-makers and forest managers in the Congo Basin. As he has done since the beginning of his career, he positions himself according to his mandates at the forest-agriculture-development interface, which represents all the complexity of tropical forest management.
