The ALPI S.P.A. Group, founder of the ALPICAM Group, is a privately held and family-owned company that was founded in Italy in 1918 by Pietro Alpi.

He specialised in the production of wood veneers thanks to an exclusive technique used for the manufacture of a new material: reconstituted wood. ALPI expanded internationally, launching activities in Cameroon in 1975, in the form of a Limited Liability Company (SARL - Société à Responsabilité Limitée) subject to Cameroonian law. Its 3 main local companies are: Alpi Pietro et fils Cameroun SARL, la societé des grumes du Cameroun (Grumcam) et Alpicam Industries SARL. The latter is currently specialised in the production of finished products (from tertiary processing) for international export. Commercial activities: Forestry,Timber processing, Export of logs and sawn timber. Products: Plywood, veneers, sliced and cut timber. Markets: Italy, France, Spain, Brazil, China, India, Thailand, Pakistan, Tunisia, Senegal, Turkey, Egypt, USA, Argentina, Russia, England, Belgium.
