The African company IFO is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). IFO has been one of the pioneers of FSC certification in the Congo Basin, since 2009 already, when IFO was able to successfully pass the first audit carried out by SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance).
These certificates guarantee the management of the 1.16 million hectares of IFO's forest concession according to the social, economic and environmental standards of the FSC. IFO thus manages the largest area of contiguous certified forest in the tropics.
