World Resources Institute (WRI) is an independent, nonprofit global research organization that turns big ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity and human well-being.
Founded in 1982, WRI has a global staff of nearly 700 people with work spanning 50 countries. WRI has offices in Brazil, China, Europe, India, Indonesia, Mexico, DRC and the United States. WRI developed together with its partners a web platform that promotes legality in forest products trade by compiling in- formation about forest sector compliance from government, private sector and third-party forest monitors in producer countries.
