The two companies announced via a press release their intention to merge.
Hupkes Houthandel Dieren bv and Wijma Kampen B.V. plan to merge. The merged company will continue as Hupkes Wijma BV. The merger is expected to be completed during the month of April once the development process has been completed. In anticipation of the successful conclusion of this process, a commercial collaboration between these two companies will commence immediately. The decision to merge the two subsidiaries was made jointly by the shareholders of Hupkes Beheer Dieren bv and the Koninklijke Houthandel G. Wijma & Zonen B.V. By joining forces, the new company will strengthen its sustainable product range and services. Together they have a combined turnover in excess of 40 million euros.
Complementary companies
The two companies have many similarities but most importantly complement each other in their main areas of strength. Both companies are specialized in supplying sustainable hardwood products for construction and the hydraulic engineering sector. This merger makes it possible to offer bespoke sustainable timber solutions. Production will continue in their current locations in Dieren (Hupkes) and Kampen (Wijma).

Hupkes Houthandel Dieren bv is a production company with a sawmill and planing facility specialized in producing marine timbers, which are certified sustainably produced. Their products are used for hydraulic engineering, rail, horticulture and landscape design, infrastructure, residential and non-residential construction as well as special projects. Their strength is the capacity for very large section sizes and lengths up to 15 meters. In addition, they focus on recycled wood products and hardwood piles. Hupkes Houthandel is 102 years old and employs 40 people.
