ATIBT has carried out, with the support of ATIBT FSC-certified companies in the Congo Basin (Interholco, CIB-OLAM, Groupe Rougier, Pallisco Group, CBG, Wijma Group, CEB-Precious Woods) a very comprehensive study on the RIL (Reduced Impact Logging) practices within these same companies.
This synthesis is available in French and English on the ATIBT website. It aims to reinforce the ATIBT’s argument that these serious practices currently implemented in the context of the sustainable management of tropical forests are environmentally friendly and that their application within the framework of the IFLs can be envisaged.
A meeting of the FSC Regional Working Group is scheduled for early July in Congo.
In addition, work continues on the various draft motions drafted and posted on the website of the FSC General Assembly in Vancouver.
