Last September, Nicolas Bayol, Director of Studies at FRM Ingénierie, was appointed the new president of the ATIBT Forest Industry Commission.
Jacqueline Lardit will provide the secretariat and animation of this commission.
As we all know, ATIBT has been involved for many years in the areas of legal and responsible forest management, the development of industry and the promotion of tropical timber, for the benefit of all private actors in the wood sector. In parallel, it also has commissions that discuss in more depth specific and current topics in the interest of its members.
Due to the physical distance between the forest and industrial companies in Central Africa and the ATIBT headquarters in Nogent-sur-Marne, this forest-industry commission is essential for ATIBT. It allows ATIBT to remain « connected » by defending the interests of the industry beyond Africa, and informing companies about important global developments.
Expert in forest engineering, Nicolas BAYOL has more than 20 years of experience in support of forest companies in forest management (Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, DRC, CAR, Cambodia and Brazil). In particular, he participated in the drafting of the « Plan Pratique d’Aménagement des forêts naturelles de production tropicales africaines », a reference work published by ATIBT.
With the support of Jacqueline Lardit, Nicolas Bayol will elaborate the road map of this commission. They will identify the members and define with them a list of priority topics defined.
