BUDMA 2025, held from February 11-14 in Poznań, Poland, centered on the theme "The Green Future of Construction," highlighting energy efficiency, prefabrication, and green architecture.
Our member Marcin Makocki (Terratimber) attended the show.
Every year, the BUDMA trade fair takes place in Pona, Poland. It attacts more than 600 exihibitors from some 25 countries or more and thousands of visitors. Our member Terratimber shared an account of his visit to the fair.
Despite the comprehensive focus on sustainable building practices, the event addressed wood as a general material without detailing the origin or properties of individual species—let alone the role of tropical timber in construction.
Forum speakers identified a significant lack of information and professional lectures on wood properties and applications within architecture departments at Polish universities of technology, emphasizing the need for educational initiatives to fill this gap.
From Marcin’s perspective, there is a valuable opportunity to expand the interest of students and professionals—not only by providing general knowledge about wood as a construction material but also by incorporating insights into tropical timber, its unique properties, and the potential applications it offers. A full marketing campaign promoting certified to this audience might be an answer to fill the gap. This opportunity will be pursued in the coming months.
