Save the date: the next ATIBT event is approaching

The RACEWOOD 2025 Conference will be held on July 1 and 2 in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo.

A strategic event for our tropical timber industry

After the last edition in Libreville seven years ago, RACEWOOD is back. Against a backdrop of profound changes in the forestry sector, RACEWOOD 2025 will be a crucial moment. After Gabon and Congo, from January 1, 2026, the other countries in the CEMAC zone will enter a new phase: timber exports will only be allowed for products that have undergone at least initial processing. This transition is leading forestry companies to rethink their strategy, moving towards:

  • More extensive timber processing
  • Diversification of products “made in the Congo Basin”
  • The development of domestic and international markets

Current issues at the heart of the debate
The forum will address strategic topics, including:

  • The FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA)
  • The future of forest concessions
  • The new European regulations (EUDR)
  • CITES requirements
  • The Broader Market Recognition Coforest governance (BMRC)

Particular focus will be placed on:

  • The promotion of lesser known species (LKTS)
  • Reducing the pressure on traditional species
  • The specific opportunities of the Congo Basin markets
  • The opportunities for national, sub-regional and international collaboration

Highlights of the event

RACEWOOD 2025 will be a unique opportunity to:

  • Discuss the current challenges of the forestry sector
  • Anticipate new European regulations
  • Exploring market opportunities
  • Sharing expertise on sustainable forest management

An event packed with highlights

In addition to conferences and round tables, this RACEWOOD will be marked by the organization of the first edition of the “Grand Prix d'Ebénisterie d'Afrique Centrale” (Central African wood work Grand Prix).

A visit to the Special Economic Zone is also planned.
