Next week, the 47th WorldSkills Competition will be held in Lyon.
As part of the ADEFAC project, various representatives from Cameroon, Gabon and the Republic of Congo will be present.
Every continent will be represented at this competition, which will be held from 10 to 15 September in Lyon, with the closing ceremony taking place at the Olympique Lyonnais stadium.
1,500 young professionals from over 65 countries will be competing in 64 skills attached to major economic sectors, from industry and services to transport and even creative arts. You can find all skills in these categories here.
Worldskills is the result of a major mobilisation of all those involved in vocational training, employment sectors, training bodies, regions and institutions in favor of young people and career. Worldskills puts the spotlight on the skills, passion and expertise of young competitors. Vocational training is showcased as a path to excellence and personal fulfilment, through a wide range of events including the international competition, conferences and round-table discussions, a vocations village, etc.
250,000 visitors are expected, including a delegation from Central Africa. One of the activities of the ADEFAC project is also to promote careers in the forestry and wood industry. This promotion will enable young people to take pride in their professions and companies to employ these young professionals who are seeking to progress towards excellence. Continuing vocational training is one way of achieving this objective.
The ADEFAC delegation is made up of representatives of the project partners:
Together with Elise MAZYERAC, a member of the ADEFAC project team, they will be taking part in a special program organised by Worldskills International for the African delegations, enabling them to find out more about the Worldskills approach and benefit from support in organising competitions at national level. The best professionals can then be supported to become the best in Africa and then the best in the world!
We'll keep you posted on the results of this great event.
