The project « Improvement of material yields by the classification of sawn timber » financed by the PPECF officially started on 16/10/2018. This project has 3 stages:
I – A comparative study of the classification rules (SATA – MGR – imperial FAS and the specific rules of professionals) and their performance.
II – A consultation of professionals and the elaboration of communication documents (rules, simplified brochure and promotional documents) with quality labels
III- The ranking rule allowing the best material yields will be the subject of a training of the operators, commercial and consumers (in agreement with the professionals)
The first phase of this action started thanks to the collaboration of CEB – Precious Woods which has made available 5 sawn logs of Awoura on which the different rules of classification have been applied. The results of this study will be shared with the project partners.
