The project "Reforestation in the UFAs of Cameroon" (UFA-Reforest) is funded by the EU. It started in early 2022 and will run until 2026.
The project aims to contribute to the sustainable management of Cameroon's timber production forests by mobilising private and public stakeholders around reforestation and future forest management strategies.
The project consortium includes ATIBT, Nature+, Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (University of Liège), as well as four companies in the Cameroon forestry-wood sector: PALLISCO, GRUMCAM-ALPICAM, SEFAC, and SEEF. The École Normale Supérieure de l'Enseignement Technique (ENSET) of the University of Douala is also associated with the project.
The project leader is Mr Yanick Nkoulou, and the project also relies on a PhD student to carry out the necessary accompanying research activities.
Thus, UFA-Reforest will contribute to the actions carried out within the framework of the Programme for Improving Governance in Forestry (PAMFOR) in Cameroon.
