In anticipation of these meetings, a survey has been launched on trade relations with Cameroon. This initiative aims to refine our understanding of current trade relations between European importers and Cameroonian producers, with a particular focus on Cameroon's lesser-known wood species (LKTS). In addition, this initiative is part of the preparations for the Carrefour International du Bois (CIB) to be held in Nantes, offering an exceptional platform for enriching exchanges and partnership opportunities.
The Cameroon - Green Deal project, presented on February 24, 2023 in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Forests and Fauna (MINFOF) and the European Union (EU) in Cameroon, is financed by the EU as part of the Programme d'Amélioration de la Gouvernance en Milieu Forestier (PAMFOR).
The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of a green economy that creates local jobs and is resilient to climate change. It also aims to improve the performance of forestry companies and develop the domestic timber market by directing it towards sustainable wood purchases.
