The international tropical timber sector is facing a series of unprecedented challenges. Rising raw material and energy costs, unpredictable ocean freight charges, increasing financing expenses, and a shortage of skilled labor in many countries are putting significant pressure on the industry.
These difficulties arise when the demand for tropical wood products weakens. Growth in housing markets has stalled in several regions, and consumer spending on non-essential wooden household items has declined.
Together, these factors contribute to heightened uncertainty for the sector.
Among the speakers, will be some of our members/partners such as Jean Marie Ntoutoume, Union des Forestiers et Industriels du Gabon (UFIGA), Ashley Amidon, IWPA and Lou XIANJIAN du GGSC
