ATIBT, together with the main European federations of the forestry sector, has signed a letter with a number of recommendations to the EU Council during the trilogue on the proposed Deforestation-free Products Regulation.
We underline that the tropical timber sector is ready for the evolution of the European regulation. ATIBT has been working for several months on the opportunity that this draft regulation represents to prove the involvement of the sector's actors through their commitment to sustainable management and certification (even if we stress that the producing countries were not sufficiently consulted).
