Community Manager & Media Relations

 Freelance Videographer/Journalist

 These one-off assignments are open exclusively to professionals based in Cameroon.

We are looking for two independent professionals or specialized firms based in Cameroon imperatively for punctual contracts from January 2025.

First position :

Digital Communication

  • Creation of association and project pages (Facebook and Linkedin)
  • Regular management of these accounts, including planning (editorial calendar), publication and follow-up of content.
  • In liaison with the local representative and head office communications managers, creation of content.
  • Identify and liaise with local online communities to promote the project's mission and activities, i.e. to ensure the visibility of forestry companies committed to sustainable management.

Press relations

  • Strengthen the project's visibility by developing relationships with local media.
  • Write and distribute press releases, coordinate interviews and manage press requests.
  • Analyze and measure the performance of communication actions through regular reports.

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Proven experience as a Community Manager and in managing media relations, ideally in an NGO or environmental project context.
  • Excellent command of social networking platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Skills in writing and creating multimedia content (text, image, video).
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
  • Professional rigor and respect for deadlines are essential.
  • Own hardware and software and a reliable, high-speed internet connection.
  • Good knowledge of sustainable forest management or environmental issues (an asset).
  • Excellent communication skills in French (English preferred).

Second position :

Videaste/JRI (independent journalist reporter)
Main tasks :

  • Shoot footage in several forest concessions in Cameroon.
  • Conduct interviews with local people and stakeholders in the field.
  • Edit videos, including footage shot and videos from an existing image bank.
  • Collaborate with an outside agency to integrate certain videos into final productions.

Profile required:

  • Proven experience as a videographer or journalist, with expertise in field projects.
  • Experience in storyboarding and production planning.
  • Ability to work in a rural or forest environment, with good adaptability.
  • Video editing skills (proficiency in Première Pro-type editing software).
  • Skills in drone filming a plus.
  • Sensitivity to environmental issues and sustainable development (an asset).
