Job opportunities: Join a major forest governance project in Côte d'Ivoire

The ATIBT, in collaboration with the Syndicat des Producteurs Industriels du Bois (SPIB), is recruiting two key profiles for the implementation of the APV FLEGT process in Côte d'Ivoire. These positions are part of a strategic project aimed at strengthening the legality and traceability of timber traded to the European Union.

APV FLEGT Project Manager - Private Sector

  • Location: Abidjan, with travel in Côte d'Ivoire
  • Contract duration: 45 months

 

Main missions:

  • Support the private sector in implementing the Legality Verification System (LVS).
  • Coordinate project activities and collaborate with local authorities, EFI, forestry companies and other partners.
  • Monitor legal reforms and advocate on behalf of private players.

Profile required:

  • Master's degree in project management, forestry sciences or environment.
  • Minimum 5 years'experience in forestry or sustainable development project management
  • In-depth knowledge of APV FLEGT regulations, timber traceability and legal compliance
  • Excellent project management and multi-stakeholder coordination skills

APV FLEGT Technical Assistant

  • Location: Abidjan, with regular travel in Côte d'Ivoire
  • Contract duration: 45 months

 

 

Main missions:

  • Support forestry companies in the application of the Legality Verification System (LVS).
  • Organize training and propose pedagogical tools to ensure legal compliance.
  • Support pilot companies in the integration of LAS digital tools
  • Carry out diagnostics to identify possible improvements in wood traceability.

Profile required:

  • Higher education in forest management, environment or related field.
  • At least 3 years'experience in supporting companies and similar projects
  • Good knowledge of FLEGT regulations and international compliance standards
  • Excellent communication and training facilitation skills
