As part of the development of projects in the Republic of the Congo, we are putting together a pool of experts and Consulting firms.
These service providers will be called upon to carry out specific assignments over the next three years, in order to support our initiatives in sectors related to timber and the local economy.
Themes of the assignments:
Lesser Known Timber Species - LKTS: Proven expertise in identifying existing documents and drawing up a list of lesser-known species with economic potential on the timber market. Compiling additional technical data sheets and user guides for lesser-known species. A good knowledge of forest botany and wood classification is required.
Domestic timber market: Objective is to better understand the domestic timber market across the entire value chain (products and sale prices, capacity of stakeholders, training needs, consumer habits, etc.). Conducting market research and providing strategic advice to improve the efficiency of the domestic timber market and promote its sustainable development.
Timber industry (further processing of wood): Proposals and support in optimizing timber processing to make better use of local resources. Mastery of techniques for the recovery of scrap wood/wood waste.
Special economic zones (SEZ) - Legal supply of the MIB, taxation of SEZ: Assistance for the development of domestic market supply and tax management strategies adapted to SEZ.
Timber marketing: Development of marketing strategies aimed at promoting Congolese wood, both nationally and internationally, with a focus on competitiveness and sustainability.
Business management: Design and implementation of training programs in business creation and management for actors in the timber sector, particularly for local SMEs.
Forest legality (domestic logging permits, community forests, legality grid): Advice and support for:
Obtaining verification documents, domestic logging permits, community forests, in accordance with forestry and environmental standards.
Support for the development of simple management plans.
SVL/FLEGT (Legality Assurance System and FLEGT): Support in the process of implementing the system for verifying the legality of timber and timber products, as part of the FLEGT initiative.
Forest taxation: Expertise in the development of tax incentives, with a focus on the domestic timber market (VAT and other exemptions).
Standardization of wood products: Assistance in the establishment of national quality and safety standards for wood products to meet the requirements of international markets.
Financial training for small craft entreprises: Creation of training programs and modules aimed at strengthening the financial skills of small craft companies in the wood sector.
Objective of this pool of experts:
The objective is to build a base of qualified service providers available for specific assignments as part of our future projects. The registered experts and Consulting firms will work collaboratively with our teams and will be involved in temporary assignments, tailored to the needs of each project. Depending on the requirements, we will get back to the registered service providers to organize the assignments.
The selected experts and Consulting firms will be informed of the contractual arrangements (by mutual agreement, call for tenders, etc.), according to the specific requirements of each assignment and the rules in force.
